Nov 21,2024Resin is an important raw material for manufacturing plastics, and the performance of automotive injection molded parts is mainly determined by resin. Resin is a polymer compound formed by polymerization of monomers. Plastic is made of resin as the main component, adding a certain amount of additives, heating and melting, filling the mold under a certain temperature and pressure, and then cooling and demolding. It can adhere to products of a given shape under the conditions of use.
There are many types of additives used in the production of automotive injection molded parts, including heat stabilizers, antioxidants, UV absorbers, light stabilizers, plasticizers, release agents, fillers (fillers), reinforcing agents, toughening agents, processing Modifiers, nucleating agents, cross-linking agents, compatibilizers, antistatic agents, coupling agents, flame retardants, smoke suppressants, foaming agents, colorants, etc. Additives impart processing functions, technological functions, and special functions. The raw materials used to produce automotive injection molded parts are often not in the form of resin and additives alone, but in the form of special materials after the two are mixed, dispersed, melted, and granulated. Resins in special materials generally refer to their homopolymers and copolymers, or functional materials modified by polymer chemical reactions, blends, or polymer alloys of two or more polymer compounds (generally adding compatibilizers).
The entire production process of automobile injection molded parts includes three parts: monomer production (composed of materials and monomers), resin production (polymerization of monomers into resin), and plastic molding processing (plastic products made from resin through molding processing). As far as automobile injection molding manufacturers are concerned, it is to select the appropriate resin and additives (more often than not, to select the appropriate material for molding, that is, special materials), and to use reasonable molding equipment, molding molds and molding processing technology to produce qualified products. The products then enter the sales category and are supplied to automobile manufacturers and automobile users. To achieve sales, the performance/letter ratio is very important. Performance refers to the physical properties, formability, and environmental adaptability of the product, that is, value = performance/price = (environmental adaptability of price formability)/price. Nowadays, environmental protection is getting more and more attention. No matter how good the physical properties are, if the formability is poor, especially if the product has environmental adaptability issues, its value will become a big problem.
In terms of environmental adaptability, in addition to the generation, management, recycling, and regeneration of waste gas, waste liquid, and waste during the resin production and product molding processes, the recycling and utilization of products after use are more worthy of attention.
The physical properties of a product are the key to determining its use value. In addition to being related to molding processing, it also depends to a greater extent on the inherent functions of the resin. For automotive injection molding manufacturers, it is very important to master the types and functions of resins.
